Teen Counseling

Is your teen struggling with depression, mood swings, or anxiety? Have you noticed they have been sleeping a lot or isolating from friends and family? Individual therapy provides teens with a place to obtain guidance from someone outside of their family. Therapy can address anxiety, anger, depression, mood swings, or difficulty coping with the unique challenges of being a teen.

Have you discovered your son or daughter has been self-harming to deal with their emotional pain? Self-harm is a serious issue that must be taken seriously and addressed by a mental health professional as soon as possible. There is a difference between self-harm (i.e., cutting, burning, etc.) and suicidal thoughts.

What about medication? Please note that I am not a psychiatric provider which means I cannot prescribe medication. I respect my clients’ decisions about medications and do not pressure them to start or discontinue medications.

I will provide consultation services at no cost to coordinate your treatment with doctors and/or teachers at your request. I am passionate about providing the best care which often includes coordinating services with other professionals.

If your child reports suicidal thoughts, call 911 or taken him/her to the emergency room to be evaluated.

As a parent, I understand how painful it is to see one’s child in pain. I have extensive experience working with teens who self-harm. By identifying the source of the pain and addressing the underlying issues, I can help your teen learn healthy ways to cope. Please do not hesitate to contact my office in Washington and get your teen the help he/she needs.
