Emily Panich

If you’re looking for a therapist who exudes warmth, you’ve come to the right place. Establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients is important to me and something I value. When I was in high school, I knew that being a counselor was the right choice for me. I enjoy walking with others on their journey and helping them in any way that I can. Working in community mental health and at a college, I have had the opportunity to provide counseling services to a variety of people.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. While I have experience working with a variety of mental health concerns, I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I primarily work with teens, college students, and adults.

How I Can Help

I strongly believe in a very client-centered approach when it comes to counseling. I like to let clients identify what they wish to improve and then work with them on achieving that goal.

My clients often tell me that I am easy to open up to. I’ve created a relaxing office environment and safe space where you can just be yourself and know that there will be no judgment. Each session we will focus on overcoming specific barriers to help you meet your goals.

Between sessions I may give you a task to complete. These tasks will be centered around helping you reach your goals. Remember, I can give you the tools to help you become healthier, but it is up to you to use them.

Therapeutic Approach

My preferred therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We often don’t realize how much our thinking impacts how we feel and our behavior. By working on challenging your thoughts we can work on altering your mood and behavior.

I have experience working with a variety of issues from self-esteem to mental health disorders. I have extensive experience working with adults and teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, and ADHD.

Education

I have worked in Central Illinois as a mental health professional for 8 years. While attending graduate school, I worked with children and adolescents who struggled with mood disorders and anxiety. I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Psychology at University of Illinois Springfield. I obtained my Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lipscomb University.

In addition to providing outpatient counseling at Lasting Serenity Counseling, I work with college students struggling with a variety of mental health concerns at Bradley University.

Interests & Hobbies

On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and our two dogs. My favorite hobbies include going hiking, baking, working out, and watching Netflix.
